What is Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield Aerosol used for?

The Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield Aerosol is primarily used for protecting a variety of surfaces from moisture, corrosion, and rust. This product forms a protective barrier that helps to extend the life of tools, machinery, and outdoor equipment. It acts effectively on metals, plastics, and painted surfaces. For instance, if you regularly operate tools outdoors, using this aerosol can help keep them in prime condition, preventing wear and tear caused by environmental factors.

How do I apply Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield Aerosol?

To apply, ensure the surface is clean and dry. Shake the can well, hold it upright about 6-12 inches away from the area, and spray a light, even coat. Allow it to dry for a few minutes before using the surface. The application is straightforward, making it suitable for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. For example, use it after cleaning your tools to protect against rust, especially if they’ll be exposed to moisture or harsh conditions.

Does Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield leave a residue?

Blaster 16-SS is designed to dry to a clear finish, leaving minimal residue. Once applied, it forms a protective layer that does not attract dirt or grime, helping surfaces remain clean. This quality is particularly beneficial for tools or equipment that are used frequently. For example, if you are a gardener, using this aerosol on your tools can ensure they remain clean and functional, prolonging their operational life without compromising performance.

Can I use Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield on electrical components?

Yes, Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield is safe for use on electrical components as it helps prevent moisture ingress without causing harm to electronic parts. However, it is advisable to avoid excessive application directly onto any powered devices. Use it to protect tools like drills or saws that may have electrical components exposed to the elements. Just make sure that the component is turned off and unplugged during application.

How long does the protection last?

The durability of Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield's protective layer depends on the environment and surface use. Typically, on tools stored indoors, it can provide protection for several weeks or months, whereas, in harsher, outdoor environments, reapplication may be necessary sooner. For instance, if you store gardening tools outside, applying the aerosol before the seasonal rains can help maintain their condition throughout the wet months.

Can Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield be used on painted surfaces?

Absolutely! Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield is safe and effective for use on painted surfaces, providing a protective layer without damaging the finish. Just ensure the paint is cured and dry before application. This is particularly useful for outdoor furniture, preventing rust or corrosion without compromising the aesthetic appeal. Regularly applying the aerosol maintains both the look and longevity of painted surfaces exposed to the elements.

Is Blaster 16-SS safe for plastic surfaces?

Yes, Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield is designed to be safe for various plastic surfaces. It does not cause any etching or damage, making it suitable for tools and equipment made from plastic materials. For example, if you're using plastic outdoor planters, applying this aerosol can help to protect them from cracking due to environmental stressors, ensuring they remain sturdy and visually appealing.

What is the drying time for Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield?

Blaster 16-SS Surface Shield typically dries in a few minutes, creating a protective layer quickly. However, for optimal protection, it is advisable to wait longer before exposing it to moisture or heavy use. This quick drying time makes it a convenient option for users who need immediate protection. For example, if you're finishing a DIY project and need to protect your tools quickly, this product allows you to apply it and start using your tools without long interruptions.

Blaster Industrial Lubricants 16-SS Editorial Review

The B'laster 16-SS Surface Shield Aerosol promises to protect surfaces from rust and corrosion. Customers have praised its clear and wet-looking finish, which is easy to apply. However, some users have reported that the product is difficult to clean up, especially if applied in areas with epoxy floors and painted walls. According to a user, three cans of B'laster 16-SS Surface Shield Aerosol were sufficient for applying to the body of a Ram Pickup. However, the same user suggests getting a fourth can to cover the engine bay too. Overall, B'laster 16-SS Surface Shield Aerosol seems to be a reliable product for protecting surfaces from rust and corrosion. However, users should take care during application and be prepared for difficult clean-up in certain situations.
