The Luma IM200SS ice maker creates clear ice by freezing water in layers, producing small 3/4 inch cubed ice. It is not connected to a water source but rather has a holding tank for water. The ice melts over time and it does not keep ice frozen. One can expect a full basket every 45 minutes once it gets started. The motor is not too loud and the unit is well-designed, taking up minimal space. There were issues reported with the ice not being clear after initial use despite filtered and/or bottled water being used. One reviewer also mentioned that the ice maker malfunctioned after three months of use. However, others noted that this machine produced better ice than other machines they had used in the past.
