The Frostmourne sword replica is a stunning and beautiful item, made mostly of steel with a soft felt handle wrapping. While it is heavy to hold, it is an effective alternative to the official $1500 replica. The sword has a rat tang, a 1/8 inch steel blade, and gold painted embossed knobs and spikes adorn the whole thing. It is decorated on both sides with a print of runes, and the filigree beneath the runes was welded onto the blade, unfortunately slightly offset. The sword and plaque arrived intact, but the box was damaged. The plaque is made from a soft composite and covered in a wood-imitation veneer. The rack is sturdy and needs to be assembled to the plaque. The sword is not sharpened and not meant for combat. Some minor issues include small loose parts or not screwed tightly, and the mounting included doesn't feel secure. The handle is designed like a screw system with most parts twisted to tighten. After contacting the seller to get missing parts, many customers find that the sword needs to be mounted onto a secure surface as it is a heavy item. Overall, it is a great purchase for WOW fans and a welcome alternative to the pricey official replica.
