The Kanova KMS-S2 motor kit is a great system that adds dolly moves to filming in auto-pilot. The kit is compatible with the K2 slider and the motion of the motor is super smooth, and motion time-lapse is possible. The new motor is 100% better than the previous setup. It is incredibly simple to use and has ONE screw – the rest is all by hand. You have a little metal strip bracket that screws onto the slider head mount. The rest are all done by hand. The motion of the motor is super smooth and you can set the duration it will go from point A to point B. You can choose to have a ramp up/ramp down to the ends for extra smoothness. However, the motor has received some negative feedback from users who complain that they could hear the motor noise, which can be distracting to inexperienced speakers. It should also be noted that the KSC-3x smart controller is not compatible with KMS-S2. The K7 series slider is recommended for heavy cameras like the Alexia.
