- Junghans Force MEGA Solar Black Ceramic Black Dial Red Rubber Strap Date Quartz Mens Watch Model# 18/1402.00 / 18-1402.00 A pioneer in radio-controlled watch technology and also at the forefront of solar energy for watches, Junghan's Force MEGA Solar combines these two technologies together with high wearing comfort and everyday usability. This Force MEGA Solar features a 40.4 mm black ceramic case, its black mineral crystal dial harnessing the sun's solar energy under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It has black and luminescent baton hands with applied blue Arabic numerals at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions as hour markers. This is complemented by the matching red-tipped seconds hand, numeric minute markers, and luminous substance, recessed pushers for reception indication/manual synchronization (2 o'clock) & time-zone settings (4 o'clock), and a LCD indicator window for: big date, radio reception, and charge level (6 o'clock). Fitted with a red rubber strap and secured with a black PVD-coated titanium signed buckle. The ceramic caseback is held by 4 screws and features the brand's logo within a globe meridian, encasing Junghan's MEGA caliber J615.84, an app-connected, multi-frequency radio-controlled solar quartz movement and is water resistant up to 50 meters/165 feet. Like all of our watches, this Junghans Force MEGA Solar Black Ceramic Black Dial Red Rubber Strap Date Quartz Mens Watch is brand new and comes in its original packaging. Started as a watch component factory under the name Zeller & Junghans, It was founded by Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law on April 14, 1861. By 1903, it became the largest watch and clock factory in the world producing over 3 million timepieces annually. With the development of highly accurate wristwatch movements, Junghans also became the 3rd largest manufacturer of chronometers in the world by 1956. A partnership with Max Bill, a Bauhaus-educated and renowned product designer, developed the first designer kitchen clock from Junghans and by 1961, designs the purist watches with his groundbreaking watch design, a minimalist and classic aesthetic that keeps up with the latest technical state of the art.
